Julie Lisbon, M.Ed.
Julie Lisbon believes strongly in project based learning and using modern educational tools to create classroom opportunities that go beyond the walls of Riverview! She has honed this belief since she began teaching in the late 90’s, and loves being at Riverview, a school that values service to the community. She began her college career as an art education major before transitioning to elementary education, so she loves incorporating art into her lessons. She continued her education, earning a master’s degree in the teaching of reading and has continued graduate work in instructional design. She has worked with the State Department of Education on developing and writing the South Carolina State College & Career Ready Social Studies standards. When Mrs. Lisbon isn’t crafting engaging lessons for her students, you’ll find kayaking on one of the local rivers or curled up on the front porch with a good book.

Jill Scheper, M.A.
Jill Scheper was born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina and has been living in Beaufort for over 20 years. She is married to a Beaufort native. They love to spend time with their children, travel, hike and go out on the boat. Mrs. Scheper has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Teaching from the University of SC. She was Nationally Board Certified in 2009 and holds Gifted and Talented endorsement. She approaches teaching from a whole child perspective. While students in her class will be learning academics through a variety of methods, they will also be striving to successfully collaborate with others, monitor their own behavior, and make responsible decisions. If a child can master those skills while also developing a love for learning then he or she has an excellent foundation for adulthood- which is her ultimate goal as a teacher.
