Kim Jenkins
Kim Jenkins came to Riverview in 2023 and is currently teaching sixth grade math. She was born and raised in Ohio, and received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from The Ohio State University. Mrs. Jenkins is a proud military spouse and has been fortunate to live all over the country and gain valuable experience teaching in a variety of school districts. She has high expectations of all her students and encourages them to always believe in themselves, while also engaging them in productive struggle to develop their grit and creative problem solving. When Mrs. Jenkins is not at Riverview, she loves to run, travel, cheer on the Buckeyes, and spend time with her husband, Jeremy, and their three children, Lucas, Maxon, and Norianna.

Julie Bullard, M.Ed.
Julie Bullard has been teaching since 1998. Before her move to Riverview in January of 2021, she taught 6th grade at Buist Academy in Charleston County. The combination of Julie’s K-8 teaching certification, master’s degree in reading instruction, gifted & talented endorsement, and work with the SC Department of Education have provided her with the expertise needed to develop historical thinking skills in Riverview students. At Riverview, Julie hopes to immerse her sixth graders in the experiences of people across history and across the world. When Julie isn’t hard at work planning rigorous instruction, you may see her running around town, likely training for another half marathon.

Ann Ritchie
Ann Ritchie has been happily teaching middle school for 30 years. 29 of those years have been spent teaching 6th grade ELA and half of that time teaching math too. Before coming to teach at Riverview, she taught 6th grade ELA at Beaufort Middle School for 5 years and was also a gifted and talented interventionist. Before moving to Beaufort in 2018, she spent 25 years teaching in Northern Illinois where she grew up, got married, and raised her 2 children. Her teaching experiences along with her National Board Certification in Early Adolescent English Language Arts, Masters of Arts in teaching, and her gifted and talented endorsement provide her with a wide variety of resources to teach children at Riverview. She loves to quilt, kayak, play board games, and spend time with her family- especially her 2 grandchildren who are both 2 years old.

Angela Lippy
Angela Lippy believes the best way to teach children is through whole child education. She firmly believes that children learn best by doing. Mrs. Lippy joined the Riverview staff in 2023 and began her teaching career in 2007. She earned her undergraduate degree from Stevenson University in Maryland and both a Master of Arts in Teaching and Master of Education degree from Liberty University. When she’s not teaching, you might find Mrs. Lippy reading, sewing, enjoying the beach, or spending time with her family.

Shelley Kolb, M.Ed.
Shelley Kolb is a native Beaufortonian who has been teaching since 1995 and has been on staff at Riverview since 2014. She has been a parent since the day the doors opened here at Riverview when the first two of her four children got seats in the lottery. She has a Bachelor’s Degree from Winthrop in Elementary Education, a Master’s Degree in Gifted and Talented Education from Converse College and holds a middle school math certification. Mrs. Kolb believes relationships with her students are an integral part to teaching and she enjoys getting to know her students and their interests and abilities outside of school. When not teaching, Mrs. Kolb likes to spend time with her husband and 4 kids at amusement parks or Clemson football games.

Glenn Hecker, M.Ed.
Glenn Hecker began his teaching career in Virginia in 2010 after receiving his Master’s of Science in Education from Old Dominion University. In 2019, he was named Teacher of the Year at Goochland Middle School and became a National Geographic Certified Educator. His students emerge from his classroom with an expansive global perspective where access to an education is not a universal right, but a privilege to value and use to contribute back to the world. Glenn and his wife, Austen, moved to Beaufort in 2021 with their dog, Denver, and two cats, who have requested to remain anonymous. At Riverview, Glenn incorporates the latest information and technology to instruct, inspire, and inform students about everything from geopolitics to GIS and how they could one day turn geography into a meaningful career.

Shannon Duffy, M.Ed.
Shannon Duffy believes that the job of education is to build on a child’s natural curiosity and instill in each individual the love of learning for a lifetime. Ms. Duffy has been teaching at Riverview since 2011. She holds a Master’s of Education in Elementary Education from the University of Alabama-Birmingham, gifted and talented endorsement, and is middle school science certified. Ms. Duffy is also a Master Naturalist. She loves the outdoors, playing tennis, reading, and has recently taken up playing chess.

San-jal McCalla
San-jal McCalla joined the Riverview family in 2024 as the grade seven teacher of English Language Arts (ELA). She is from the beautiful Island of Jamaica (the land of wood and water) where she had been teaching prior. Mrs. McCalla’s mantra that guides her approach to teaching is that every child can learn, every child must. She also believes that every child is capable of great success when they have been introduced to their potential in making their success a reality and given the requisite tools to unearth it. When she is not teaching, San-jal enjoys trying new baking recipes as well as spending quality time connecting with husband, family and friends.

Donna Moore, M.Ed.
Donna Moore earned a B.S. in Plant Pathology with a minor in Entomology from Clemson University. She has research experience through Clemson University and the University of Arizona in the fields of plant pathology, plant genetics, microbial genetics, and soil ecology. She left the university research arena to become a public-school teacher in 2000. As a science teacher, Mrs. Moore’s goal is to foster the development of scientifically literate, discerning individuals. She believes life, earth, and space systems are best understood when presented in an integrated context. She encourages students to develop their analytical thinking, research, communication, and interpersonal skills through inquiry-based instruction that builds conceptual understanding of the natural world. She encourages students to collaborate daily to build understanding and investigate new ideas. Her goal is for students to understand the connections between nature and man so they grow into informed citizens and purposeful stewards of our world.

Erin Ryan
Ms. Ryan began teaching math at Riverview in 2022. She has been teaching secondary and middle school math in the Lowcountry of South Carolina since 2001. Ms. Ryan also holds a gifted and talented certification. Students in Ms. Ryan’s class will pursue engaging mathematics and creative STEAM work in a safe, supportive environment. In her free time Ms. Ryan enjoys traveling, especially to visit her daughter at the USNA.

Catherine Weissberg
Catherine joined the Riverview team in 2022. Mrs. Weissberg began her education career in 2012 when she taught English as a foreign language in South Korea. Following her days as an expat, she returned to the states and taught middle school English, primary art, and third grade at a charter school in Arizona. She also has five years experience as a school administrator. Mrs. Weissberg holds a bachelor’s in English, with a journalism concentration, and a master’s in K-12 Educational Leadership. When she is not teaching, you will find Mrs. Weissberg at the beach — catching some rays and swimming in the ocean!

Eliza O’Connell, M.Ed.
Eliza O’Connell believes that kids learn best when they feel safe, supported, and listened to. In her ELA class, you’ll find students writing in order to better understand themselves and reading in order to better understand the world around them. Before joining the Riverview staff in 2019, Mrs. O’Connell taught in southern Arkansas and the upstate of South Carolina. She holds a master’s of education in literacy from Clemson University.
